Skye Niseko Honoured to Host Gran Fondo World Championships 2026

In 2026, the world’s top cyclists will descend on Niseko for one of the most celebrated events in amateur road racing: the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. With the championship making its Asian debut, we are honoured to announce that Skye Niseko will serve as the official host hotel welcoming athletes, supporters, and cycling enthusiasts from around the globe.

The Gran Fondo World Championships brings together thousands of qualified riders from dozens of nations to compete across challenging distances and stunning landscapes. The 2026 edition will showcase:

• Gran Fondo - a 140km long-distance road race testing endurance, speed, and strategy
• Medio Fondo - an 80km shorter but equally competitive course
• Time Trial - an individual race against the clock
• Team Relay - team members alternating in different sections of the course, against other teams
• Open Discovery Ride

Athletes who have earned their place through qualifying events will gather for a weekend of outstanding racing, camaraderie, and celebration.
