The Skye Experience: From Morning to Night
At Skye Niseko, the mountain isn’t just a backdrop, it’s your front door. From our unique position at the base of the Grand HIRAFU resort, your time in Niseko-Hirafu unfolds with a natural sense of ease. Move effortlessly between the slopes, village, and comfort of your suite, shaping each day entirely to your own pace. From first lift to evening unwind, this is the Skye experience as it is meant to be.
Your day begins before you even arrive. SkyExpress transfers, arranged by our concierge team, bring you seamlessly from the airport to the top of Hirafu. Upon arrival, check into your suite where floor-to-ceiling windows frame the vast winter landscapes, the mountain already calling you to the hills.
08:00 | Morning: First Tracks & Fuel
Start your day at Kumo Restaurant with a Japanese and Western buffet breakfast. Over 70 items daily, from house-baked breads to Hokkaido specialities sourced from local farms. Fuel up, then head to Ski Valet. Store your own gear or rent premium equipment - either way, you're seconds from the slopes.
If you're looking to improve your technique, our concierge can arrange GoSnow lessons with Niseko's top instructors, with First Tracks sessions starting at 8:30am for priority lift access and expert instruction before the crowds arrive.
Ski out to the King Gondola from the valet, or exit the front entrance for the Ace Gondola. Both of Grand HIRAFU's two main gondolas are within seconds. The definition of Hirafu's ski-in, ski-out.
12:00 | Midday: The Ultimate Pitstop
After a morning of legendary powder laps, ski straight back to Skye Niseko's signature restaurant for lunch. Grab a ramen or lunch set at Kumo Restaurant and pair with a crisp Sapporo Classic, or stop by Café Deli for barista-crafted coffee, signature matcha drinks, freshly baked bread, and SORA soft serve - Niseko's favourite indulgence made with Hokkaido milk and cream.
15:00 | Afternoon: Alpine Wellness & Après
The slopes are still open, but après is calling. Return to Kumo Restaurant for 2-for-1 cocktail specials, or unwind in the onsen - mineral-rich hot spring water drawn from deep below the hotel. For families, workshops run twice a week during après hours, giving parents time to settle in at Kumo's bar with a Niseko Martini or Japanese whisky while the kids participate in activities.
For total seclusion, book the private onsen from your in-room tablet. If you're looking for deeper restoration, Ryko Spa offers signature massages, facials, and Hokkaido's only float tank - perfect for sports recovery after a big day on the mountain.
19:00 | Evening: Izakaya Dining & Night Skiing
As the sun sets, Kumo Restaurant transforms into a vibrant izakaya. Hokkaido's freshest ingredients, authentic Japanese flavours, cocktails crafted with house-made syrups, and an impressive sake and whisky collection. This is where Niseko gathers. If you're not ready to call it a day, night skiing runs until 7pm - groomed and ungroomed slopes lit under floodlights, the mountain glowing beneath you.
